Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, registering, or using the SettleMe mobile application ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and GreatCallie International Ltd ("SettleMe", "we", "us", or "our").

2. What SettleMe Is — and Is Not

SettleMe is an out-of-court mediation platform. We facilitate structured dispute resolution between willing parties through certified mediators.

SettleMe is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Our mediators facilitate resolution — they do not act as solicitors, barristers, or legal representatives for any party. Nothing on this Platform constitutes legal advice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering contracts under Nigerian law to use this Platform. By registering, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

4. The Mediation Process

• Both parties must voluntarily agree to participate in mediation.
• Each party is required to pay the applicable fee (currently ₦20,000) before mediation commences.
• Case Review Before Counterparty Contact: Following payment confirmation, every submission is reviewed by our team. SettleMe reserves the right to reject any case that, in our reasonable assessment, lacks sufficient merit, involves criminal or non-civil matters, contains materially insufficient information, or is otherwise unsuitable for out-of-court mediation. If a case is rejected at this stage, the counterparty will not be contacted or notified in any way.
• A certified mediator will be assigned to review both sides and facilitate discussion.
• The mediator's decision is a recommendation. Both parties may accept or reject it.
• If both parties accept, the case is resolved and marked as settled.
• If either party rejects the decision, a full case transcript will be provided, which may be used in subsequent court proceedings.

5. Fees and Payment

The current mediation fee is ₦20,000 per party, per case, payable by bank transfer to the account details displayed in the app. The fee covers the full case review and mediation process, including the initial assessment carried out before any counterparty is contacted.

Fees are non-refundable once payment has been confirmed — including in cases where a submission is rejected following our review. By paying, you acknowledge that a material part of the service (case assessment) is performed immediately upon payment confirmation, regardless of whether mediation ultimately proceeds.

Payment must be confirmed by our team before a case proceeds. We reserve the right to update our fees at any time, with notice provided in the app.

6. Your Obligations

By using the Platform, you agree to:

• Provide truthful, accurate, and complete information about your dispute.
• Not submit false evidence or misrepresent facts.
• Communicate respectfully with all parties and our team.
• Not use the Platform for frivolous, vexatious, or fraudulent disputes.
• Comply with all applicable Nigerian laws in your use of the Platform.

7. Confidentiality

All mediation proceedings on SettleMe are strictly confidential. You agree not to disclose the content of mediation sessions, the mediator's decision, or any communications between parties to any third party, except where required by law or for the purpose of enforcing a settlement.

8. Evidence and Data Submitted

Any evidence, documents, or information you submit to the Platform may be reviewed by your assigned mediator and, where strictly necessary, by our administrative team. You warrant that you have the right to submit all content you provide and that it does not infringe any third-party rights.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and technology on the SettleMe Platform are the property of GreatCallie International Ltd. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Platform without our express written consent.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, SettleMe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to any outcome of mediation proceedings. Our total liability in any case shall not exceed the fee you paid for the relevant case.

11. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, submits false information, or engages in conduct we determine to be harmful to other users or the integrity of the Platform.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify users of material changes within the app.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.
